Am I allowed to trade during news events?

Trading during major news events is subject to clear restrictions. Positions may not be opened or closed within 5 minutes before and after a major news release. This also applies to automatic closures via Stop Loss or Take Profit.

This rule applies exclusively to instruments directly affected by the respective news event. Only Red Folder News are subject to this restriction. News marked as Yellow or Orange is not excluded from trading and is permitted.

This includes any type of position opening or closing, including manual executions as well as executions via pending orders or limits. Positions that were opened before the restricted window begins and are closed only after it ends are permitted.

News tentative/all-day

Tentative

If news is marked as tentative, meaning without a fixed time, it is recommended to research independently in which time period the release could take place. During this period, trading should not be carried out until the news occurs.

All-day

If a news event applies for the entire day, which occurs very rarely, trading for the entire day is not allowed.
